Reels & Work

Editorial Reel 2022

My current Editorial Reel covering projects I have cut over the past few years, including short films and personal projects.

Sizzle Reel 2022

I like to create Sizzle Reels to practice and experiment with editing techniques I have observed or am curious about trying out for myself. This Sizzle includes a large handful of projects I have had the opportunity to cut over the past few years.

There Goes the Neighborhood - Animatic (May 2022) - Karina McBeth

This is a storyboard sequence created by my sister to practice boarding to a song as well as create something with her original characters. I collaborated with her by Editing the animatic. It was a great challenge and learning experience as I followed the same steps that I do at work. Please private message for password to view.

Nickel a Day - The Rainbow (2016) - Karina McBeth

This is an animatic I edited for my sister based off of a storyboard sequence she created that was inspired by her three panel comic series, "Nickel a Day," where she recalls funny incidents from her life (http://nickeladay.tumblr.com/).

PRISM (2015) - Jackson Miller

This was the first VFX film I have ever edited. It was a Senior Thesis collaboration between the Digital Arts and Film Production departments, and worked to stretch and challenge me to think outside the box to create a VFX Editorial workflow that accommodated both sides.

Doppelganger (2015) - Carly Lambert

I had an absolute blast getting to cut this short film for my second Senior Thesis. I really enjoyed being able to tell a story that consisted of constantly shifting points of view in order to heighten the suspense. Get ready for a fun time!

Red Riding Meets the Wolf (2014) - Karina McBeth

This is a story sequence I cut for my sister, Karina McBeth, a Story Artist currently working on the Angry Birds movie. During her internship with Walt Disney Animation, she created this sequence and asked me to edit it for her. Using AVID Media Composer, I cut, sound mixed, and recorded scratch dialog to bring the story to life.

Paper Beats Rock (2013) - Amy McBeth

This is a short film I made for my Intermediate Production course. This film is a pre-thesis short where each student serves as the director, writer, editor, sound designer, and location manager, using other students to act as the cinematographer and key crew. The requirements included writing a film that was 3 pages long, had 2 characters, and 1 location. I found the actors through LA Casting and had a wonderful time working with Denis and Monty in shaping their performances. The Production Design credit goes to my mom and sister, with the cinematography mastery going to my good friend Nick Sanchez. Enjoy!
